In this day and age, a lot of people shop online for clothing, books, and many other items.

And why wouldn’t they? It’s a lot more convenient than going to stores, plus it can be a lot cheaper—if you’re smart about it.

There are many ways that you can save money on online purchases, and today I’m going to share 4 ways to do just that!

4 Ways to Save Money on Online Purchases

  1. Look at coupon sites before you make a purchase

One of the most obvious (yet often overlooked) and easiest ways to save money when shopping online is to browse coupon sites before you make a purchase.

Two of the best coupon sites that I’ve found are Coupon Craze and RetailMeNot. These sites offer coupons that can save you a lot of money on your items, free shipping, or both.

RetailMeNot also lets you know which sites are offering special offers or sales on their products.

  2. Go to low-cost clothing websites for your clothes

There are many low-cost clothing websites where you can find great quality, cheap clothing.

One of my favorite low-cost clothing website is Simple Addiction. You can find trendy items for great prices there, and the items have great sales sometimes.

  3. “Like” your favorite stores and sign up for their email lists

This is one of the most effortless ways to save money on online purchases.

Many stores offer coupon codes and special offers for their Facebook fans and email subscribers.

Just go to their Facebook page and “like” them, then go to their website and search for their email newsletter and you’ll receive any free coupon codes and special offers in your news feed and inbox.

  4. Compare prices before you make a purchase

Just because you see a product on a website that seems like it’s a great price doesn’t mean that it’s not even cheaper on a different website.

Before you make a purchase, Google the product first and see if a lower price pops up somewhere else.

Or you can install PriceBlink (available for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari) into your web browser and let it do the work for you.

This app will scan any product and let you know where you can find it for the lowest price. It will also alert you to any coupons available.

There are many ways that you can save money while shopping online; you just need to research products and websites before you make any impulse-purchases.
