If you find yourself with a temporary short term cash flow problem, you need a few quick solutions.

It’s hard to have to wait until pay day, and most jobs don’t pay on-the-spot.

However, there are still a few things you can do when you need cash tomorrow.

5 Ways to Find Cash When You Need It Tomorrow

  1. Selling Unused Items

It’s time to clean out your closets and get rid of the things that you don’t really use. If you need a lot of money, look for items that would fetch higher prices, like electronics or kitchen gadgets.

The trouble with this is that you never know what’s going to sell quickly, so you have to cast a wide net and list several things at the same time.

You should also be flexible about meeting the sellers. Post ads for your things on Craigslist or through Facebook garage sale groups. Clothing resale shops or pawn shops are other good solutions for instant cash.

  2. Selling Jewelry

Selling through Craigslist sometimes doesn’t pan out, but you can easily trade in your jewelry for quick money.

Buyers like Rhonda’s Jewelry tend to prefer gold jewelry to anything else, but you can also sometimes sell silver or precious gems. Most cities have at least one store that will do this.

  3. Performing Odd Jobs

Look for ways that you can earn a few bucks helping someone out. For instance, you could do some yard work, shovel or plow driveways, babysit or give someone a ride to their doctor’s appointment.

Some people list this type of job on Craigslist under the “gigs” section, but you often have to ask around for referrals. If you have good friends and neighbors, they won’t mind recommending you.

  4. Borrowing

While you don’t want to make a habit of it, you may be able to borrow the money from a friend or family member. A good friend won’t mind loaning you a few bucks until you get paid.

If your relatives live far away, it’s harder to get cash quickly, but that person may be able to make an online payment for a bill.

  5. Getting an Advance

Employers will sometimes be able to give you an advance on your salary, especially if it’s not a lot of money. Consider asking your boss or human resources department if this is something they’ll do.

Otherwise, you may be able to get a payday loan. These have high interest rates, so you won’t want to do it often, but if you’re in a pinch, it’s a solution that can work.

It’s hard to be short on cash, but your situation isn’t the end of the world. Get a little creative and you’ll soon have the cash you need.
