Today’s marketplace is saturated with tons of startups and competition in practically every industry. The key to getting a leg up on all of the competition is to separate yourself from the crowd and get your voice out there. This comes down to marketing and advertising, which, while an absolute necessity for businesses, is difficult to do in a unique way.

Getting your brand out to people and having them recognize you has no perfect road map to execute, and is a bit of an ambiguous task, sometimes. However, there are certain steps you can take that will help expand your mind to the ways that you can get the word out.

Here are some creative marketing ideas for your small business…

Creative Marketing

  • Check the latest movement on social media

One of the fastest growing avenues of advertising and marketing is social media. It’s how the world communicates, today.

However, social media is an ever changing landscape that is constantly adapting to the world around it.

The on-fire meme of one week is pretty much old news by the next week. That’s why, if you are using social media to market your business (and you absolutely should be doing that), you need to make sure that you or your social media manager are hip with the latest social media trends, and exactly how to get the most out of each social media platform.

  • Use your vehicle as a billboard

To be creative with your business’s advertising, you need to look at all of the tools that you already have to see what can be used as a megaphone to get your brand out into the world.

One way to do this that many companies use is to get your vehicle or the company vehicle and outfit it with branding.

If you have a company vehicle that is out on the road everyday, you can get a maximum return on that vehicle if you are using it as moving billboard that is passing thousands of cars, every day.

If you aren’t doing this, then your company vehicle is just another car on the freeway. Besides, wrapping your vehicle with branding is tax deductible, so why wouldn’t you take advantage of it?

  • Understand your employees are part of your brand

Every business is going to live and die by the employees who work there. The personnel that you choose to be a part of your business are going to be the most key ingredient to your success or failure.

However, this goes beyond just how an employee is conducting your operations. It is helpful to think of your employees as part of your brand. The people that work for you, whether they are at work or not, are always a representation of your company.

For this reason, giving your employees a reason to have pride in the company that they work for can be an incredibly powerful form of marketing, especially if they are willing to share in the message that you are trying to create.

  • Look for local events

Event marketing is an incredibly underrated avenue of marketing. Essentially, events allow you to get your company into a more tangible setting that allows consumers to interact with you.

Getting into local events shows that you are actually being a part of the community, and lets people put a face and a personality to the brand.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of local events that happen every year, in any given area. And there are thousands upon thousands of locals that go to these events to have good time.

If you aren’t associating your brand with that type of environment, then you are missing out on a major opportunity.

  • Partner with another company

A collaborative partnership with another company can provide plenty of opportunities for both parties.

One major benefit, though, is that partnering with another company usually opens you up to a larger customer base, either through the expanded services you are able to offer, or simply because they will be feeding you clients.
