Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments used around the world.

It is so popular because it can help patients look lean and trim again if their best efforts at dieting and exercising the fat away has not helped.

With liposuction, you can get unwanted fat cells sucked out of your body permanently and can reveal a slimmer you. One of the most popular areas for liposuction is the belly.

Here are a few ways that you can determine how much your procedure may cost.

How Much Does Belly Fat Liposuction Cost on Average

  • The Type of Procedure

Traditional liposuction typically costs the least when compared to more modern ways of performing the same procedure. For example, if your provider is going to use ultrasound guidance or is going to use laser-assisted liposuction, you can expect your costs to rise. On the other hand, tumescent liposuction, which requires less anesthesia, is typically cheaper.

  • The Size of the Area

Your provider will also consider how much of your belly you wish to have treated. You may only want to have the bottom part of your belly treated if you have a muffin top or a bit of extra fat there from previous pregnancies.

However, if you need the entire belly treated or if you are a larger individual, you will pay more.

  • The Number of Previous Treatments

Prior treatments in the area can leave you with scar tissue that can make it more difficult for your current provider to perform the procedure quickly. In addition, liposuction will be more expensive and also more difficult for your provider if your weight has yo-yoed in the past.

  • The Skill of the Surgeon

Surgeons who are highly skilled and who have numerous happy clients are often in high demand. This can often drive up their prices and put them at the higher end of the cost spectrum. However, keep in mind that it may well be worth your money to opt for a surgeon who charges more but who does a better job because you will have better results and fewer risks of complications.

  • The Geographic Location

Most likely, your liposuction will cost more if you live in a heavily populated city than it would in a small town. However, some of the best providers have their clinics in larger cities and may well be worth the additional cost.

If you are having only your lower abdomen treated, you can expect your surgery to cost between $2,500 to $3,000. If you are having your entire abdomen treated, you can expect a cost of $3,000 to $4,000. Some premier surgeons may even charge up to $8,000 for complete liposuction costs.

Be sure to talk to your provider about costs in detail before your procedure because any estimate that you receive on the telephone may not be accurate.
