Tax Season Comes With Paralyzing Fear Of Crucifixion

Tax season is upon us. Now it’s the time for all good and wise folks to pay respect to the Internal Revenue Service – better known as IRS – in the form of filing taxes. Of course, if you are a millionaire, you pay less taxes in proportion to your income. If you are one of the millions of ordinary down-to-earth folks who pay taxes, you will pay more taxes in proportion to your income.

The process of filing tax returns has created fear of the dark side or the fear of anal probe audits. That’s one reason many folks procrastinate and wait till the due date for filing. It doesn’t matter whether they owe to IRS or the IRS owes them.

IRS guillotine scare the shit out of decent folks!

The symptoms of the paralyzing fear include failing to file tax returns for years on end and saving unopened letters that carry the return address of the infamous blade of IRS guillotine.

Many unknowingly and perhaps subconsciously save these letters. There can only be one reason why they save the letters and that is the IRS guillotine scare the shit out of them.

The fear grips many of the good folks in a tight vise that holds your head between your temples for weeks and months to come.

Of course, some of these taxpayers may not have enough money to pay what they think they owe. Perhaps they figure they won’t be missed among the more than 150 million individual returns expected to be filed this year.

Whatever the reason, fear created in the minds of good and decent folks will always be the cause of not filing tax returns.

Don’t be scared

You shouldn’t be scared to pay your due taxes to the treasury. It was your tax dollars that the government paid to banks and other financial institutions unconditionally. Fear not our government has other noble causes as well.

Rest assured that our tax dollars are being well spent to help the rich get richer and send the poor to the bottom of the barrel or worse many have gone six feet under, never to see the light of another day again.

Hey! Lighten up. It ain’t that bad. At least, some of us are alive. Miserable may be but still alive. We get food once in a while. What more do we want?

What to do to avoid fear

The best thing to do is “Prepare to File your tax return” all year long. I, for one, save all my receipts that can have some effect on my taxes – whether they actually have or not – in a shoe box.

Most tax filers have simple and straightforward income and liabilities.

Using software to save all my documents in one place helps make taxes & bookkeeping easier tremendously.

You can use a free tax software package for your Federal tax return. I have been using Tax Act software for more than 7 years. It is very simple to use. You are welcome to use any tax software to help you do your taxes.

Legality of Taxes

The income tax is both legal and constitutional.

  • Look up Title 26 of the US code.
  • The IRS Tax Code is also the law.
  • It was approved by both houses of Congress and signed by the POTUS (President Of The United States), therefore, it’s the law of the land.

In a Nutshell
Nobody likes to pay taxes and thus they hate to file their tax return. But it’s the law passed by Congress and signed by the President so we have to somehow respect it whether we fear it or not.

Remember

Just to remind you:

  • Al Capone was not sent to jail by Eliot Ness.
  • Al Capone was sent to jail by IRS.
