Google are bringing yet another breakthrough to the technological world as we know it. Google Goggles were suggested to be a project for the future, ten or twenty years down the line, but it may not be quite as far away as originally expected. The Glass Project demonstration showed the possible uses of the glasses that would be connected to the Android system.
These glasses can be used to view messages, Google Maps and make video calls, right before your very eyes. The glasses are being developed right now and the aim is to find a way to do all of the things that currently require a hand held device.
The glasses would be a digital computer that is connected to the Internet. Google actually started building on the idea more than two years ago and that is why the technology is already developed enough for the project to be announced. They will be selling a prototype of the glasses to programmers at quite a high price so they can have them early next year.
The idea behind this is that these programmers will be able to give
feedback and suggest improvements and ideas to ensure the glasses have great uses.
Google are striving to get Project Glass to the point where it can be
available, and more affordable, to the consumer. It is suggested that the glasses will be available in 2014 and will be quite pricey. They will cost more than smartphones, but should be able to offer more convenience and benefit from some awesome features as well. They would require a connection to the internet, but that bit is easy with http://www.simonly-deals.com/.
The delay in the release is to give Google enough time to get that all important feedback from programmers, and to fix bugs in the products. They are also working on battery life and towards a device that can be worn all day long for user convenience.
The new device is sure to change technology and the future of what is to come. They even hired skydivers to wear the glasses whilst jumping out of a blimp 2,130m above San Francisco. The glasses were also equipped with a camera and certainly achieved the result of showing users the possibilities and what they can share with the virtual world! A crowd watched what was going on through the eyes of the skydiver, or the glasses, as the fell. This is pretty cool and very much an impressive device it would seem.
You can do your online shopping as you walk around, receive text messages, make that video call you have been meaning to make and even take pictures! The device will have the best features that smartphones have to offer in a form that you could never have imagined.
This will make it easier for those who find themselves attached to a
computer to actually converse with the physical world. Instead of being cooped up working on the laptop all day, people could actually be doing their work while walking around! The possibilities are great and the features that the glasses will offer will be widely anticipated to say the least. It begs the question, is Project Glass the beginning to the smartphone becoming obsolete?
The glasses are sophisticated and not as much of an obstruction as you would think. The display is designed to show the user what they want to see in a way that will still allow them to engage with their surroundings and the people around them at the same time.
This device is surely going to appeal to everyone, but mean that the
possibilities are there for everyone as well. For those who don’t get much time to check their emails, but like to go for a run before work in the morning, you can do both at the same time! You can also be taking snaps of anything you like as you go along.
All you can do for now is wait and see, literally! The wait isn’t too long though and no doubt there will be more talk about the glasses as the beginning of 2014 gets closer.
Google never cease to amaze and their newest project is going just that. Project Glass is set to change the world of technology once again and make the day to day things easy and simple to do, right before your eyes.
